The AGERON T-shirt is made using a ring-spun cotton process that is slightly different from the regular process. In ring-spun cotton, the cotton fibers are continuously twisted and thinned out, creating a very fine rope of cotton fibers. This twisting causes the short cotton hairs to stand out, resulting in a stronger yarn with a noticeably softer feel. The more the fibers are spun, the stronger and softer the yarn becomes.
The advantages of ring-spun versus regular cotton are clear: a 200gsm regular cotton T-shirt may be heavier than a 165gsm ring-spun cotton T-shirt, but the ring-spun cotton T-shirt will often be more durable and significantly softer.
