We have sold a lot of airsoft magazines over many years. Who doesn't want one or even two extra magazines for their replica when they are out on the field? Running out of ammo in the middle of a game is never fun. Imagine having a clear shot at an opponent, but your magazine is empty and you watch them run for cover. That would be one of the worst things that could happen in the heat of the game. Fortunately you can do something about it by keeping an extra magazine or two to hand.

Magazine types

Real-cap (low-cap)

The magazines in this category generally hold relatively few rounds – roughly, if not exactly, the same number as a "real" magazine. If you want your replica to feel a little more authentic, this magazine could be a good choice.

Mid-cap

Mid-cap magazines hold more rounds than a real-cap magazine. They are usually characterised by not needing to be "wound" at the bottom. Instead you use a speedloader to load the magazine, and can then fire as many rounds as it holds. This magazine is for you if you want more rounds than a real-cap gives you. You don't get as many BBs as with a hi-cap, but you have plenty of shots for the game.

Hi-cap

Hi-cap magazines are, as the name suggests, magazines that hold a lot of rounds. They are characterised by a winding wheel at the bottom, which you use to wind up the magazine so you can fire a good number of shots before you need to wind it again. Those without a wheel are a few types of flash mag, which have a pull cord.

Drum magazine

These are by far the magazines that hold the most BBs. They come in two types: one with manual winding, where you wind the magazine by hand – though in a larger, easier way than on a hi-cap – and one with automatic winding, which runs on batteries. These magazines can easily hold more than 1,500 rounds. This is the magazine for you if you want to be sure you won't run out of BBs any time soon.
