Driven-Hunt Clothing & High-Visibility Colours

On a driven hunt you need to be seen. High-visibility colour makes it easier for the other guns to see where you stand and walk – especially in scrub, woodland and poor light. Here we have gathered hunting clothing in Safety Orange, Realtree Edge® Safety Orange and Realtree Edge® Orange from Deerhunter: jackets, vests, fleece and headwear.

What to look for

CE marking and EN 17353

EN 17353 is the European standard for enhanced-visibility equipment. Several of Deerhunter's high-visibility products are CE-marked and certified to the standard – e.g. the ROGALAND softshell jacket, the RECON DURA-TEX membrane jacket, the ATLAS Light fleece jacket and vest, the GAMEKEEPER reversible fleece vest, the hunting mesh safety vest and the EAGLE winter jacket and vest in Realtree Edge® Safety Orange. Whether the model you are looking at is certified is shown under Certifications on the product page.

Safety Orange or Realtree Edge® Orange?

Safety Orange is a solid high-visibility colour. Realtree Edge® Safety Orange is a camo pattern in high-visibility colour. Note that not all orange models are certified – e.g. EAGLE in Realtree Edge® Orange is not CE-marked to EN 17353, while the Realtree Edge® Safety Orange version is.

Jacket, vest or cap?

• Vest – easy to pull over the jacket you are wearing. The hunting mesh safety vest is light and airy.
• Reversible – the GAMEKEEPER reversible fleece vest and bonded fleece jacket have a green and an orange side.
• Jacket – EAGLE, RECON, ROGALAND and H. GAME are available in high-visibility colour.
• Headwear – caps and flat caps in orange and caps with a safety band.

Remember the rest of the team

Beaters and dog handlers also need high-visibility colour. Youth ROGALAND and Youth ATLAS Light are available in Safety Orange for young participants.

Visibility does not last forever

High-visibility colour fades over time, and dirt makes it less visible. Wash the clothing according to the care label and replace it when the colour has become dull. Always follow the care label on certified products, so the visibility is maintained.

Size and fit

Deerhunter has its own size charts for men, women and children – you will find the chart on each product page and all measurements in the size guide. A high-visibility vest must fit over your jacket – choose a size with room for it.

Who it suits

Everyone taking part in group and driven hunts: guns, beaters, dog handlers and hunt leaders. The hunt leader decides the clothing on each hunt, so always check what is required.
