All gun safes in our range are tested and approved according to SS3492 , which also means that they are approved by Forsikring og Pension and Norske Veritas. This means you have good security against theft.
As many hunters know, before 2016 there was something called SKAFOR BLUE and SKAFOR RED - This has been removed and today gun safes in Denmark must be approved according to SS3492, which is a Swedish approval. A gun safe must also meet EN 1143-1 grade 0 to be insured (But if it is approved by Forsikring og Pension it is fine. Alternatively, you can contact your insurance company to be sure they will cover if something happens.

Choose the right gun cabinet
Finding the right gun safe for you can be a jungle in terms of sizes and what type of lock you want! We carry gun safes from Scandinavian Safe, among others, who are always at the forefront when it comes to innovative solutions, which means that almost all of their gun safes can be delivered with a combination lock or with a key. The advantage of the combination lock is that you don't need any keys, but "only" have to enter a code.
In relation to the size of the gun cabinet, it can be really sensible to consider whether you should have a gun cabinet that is just one size larger than the one you currently have, it may well be that you need to get a few extra guns in the future (and I wonder if you should) - We dare say that it is really annoying to have bought a new gun and then there is no room in the gun cabinet, as they have to be stacked on top of each other to be there. It can also risk causing scratches and marks, especially on the stock of your rifle or shotgun.
In addition to gun cabinets, Scandinavian safe also has various accessories for your gun cabinet. This includes everything from extra shelves, partitions to lights inside your gun cabinet! This gives you a great opportunity to optimize your cabinet to suit you, with space for hearing protection, ammunition and much more. Also remember that several gun cabinets have a built-in compartment above the guns, which can be locked, where you can store your stock, your jewelry, passports and much more!

Assembling your gun cabinet
A gun safe must be bolted down before weapons can be placed in it. This means that it must be bolted down to both the floor and the wall with a minimum of 4 bolts (4 points). It is also the case that the bolts must be drilled at least 10 cm into the building part and they must be at least 10 mm in diameter. This applies to gun safes/security cabinets that weigh less than 1 ton (1000 kg).

Avoid moisture in your gun cabinet
Once you have assembled the gun cabinet, the next task is to get the weapons in there! But one of the most important things is to avoid moisture in the cabinet, as it can quickly become damp inside when the cabinet is closed and there is no circulation.
Moisture can both destroy the gun cabinet and cause bad odors.
Therefore, there are a few things to keep in mind that counteract moisture.
- Place a dehumidifier in the gun cabinet.
- After you have been hunting, you should wipe your weapon down so that moisture does not get into the gun cabinet.
- Remove accessories such as straps, cartridge holders, etc. where moisture can accumulate.
- Please make sure the weapon is at a reasonable temperature before it goes into the cabinet.
PSST: It's always a good idea to keep your weapon lubricated with gun oil or grease when it's in the gun cabinet.
