Umarex Pellets

Umarex pellets – versatile ammunition for every shooting task

When you choose Umarex pellets, you get ammunition from a major player in air guns. Umarex is known for its huge range, covering everything from affordable training pellets to specialist target variants. Their pellets are developed to perform at their best both in their own licensed brands such as Walther and Browning and in all other common air guns on the market.

We stock Umarex because they deliver consistent quality that lets you shoot a lot without breaking the budget.

A pellet for every discipline

Umarex has divided its range so it is easy to find the right pellet for your activity:

  • Umarex Mosquito: The classic wadcutter pellet, ideal for training and target shooting at shorter distances. It cuts clean holes in card targets and is very affordable.

  • Umarex Cobra: A ribbed pointed pellet that gives high penetration. Ideal for plinking at cans and other fun targets.

  • Umarex Match: As the name suggests, this pellet is made for precision. It is hand-sorted and ideal for the shooter who wants consistent results from their air pistol.

Maintenance and accuracy

Even though Umarex pellets are clean, it is important to look after your barrel to maintain accuracy over time:

  • Cleaning: Regularly use a cleaning kit and gun oil from Stil Crin to remove lead residue and protect against rust.

  • Tactical kit: Training seriously? Find tactical clothing that gives you full freedom of movement while you shoot.

  • Also try: If you are looking for even higher accuracy at a sharp price, check out our own brand, Storm Air pellets.

Quick guide Which pellets should you choose?

Three things decide it: calibre, head shape and weight. Here is the short version.

1CalibrePellets must match your air gun. The calibre is marked on the barrel or in the manual.
2Head shapeThe shape decides what the pellet does best.
WadcutterTarget shooting at 10 m. Clean holes in the target.
DomedAll-round. Flies best at longer range.
PointedDeeper penetration at short to medium range.
Hollow pointHollow tip that expands on impact.
SlugsOnly for high-power PCPs. H&N recommends at least 25 J.
3WeightLight pellets for low power, heavy pellets for powerful air guns and longer range.
Light4.5 mm: 0.51 g · 5.5 mm: 0.93 gTarget shooting and low-power air guns
Medium4.5 mm: 0.55–0.67 g · 5.5 mm: 1.03–1.17 gAll-round for most air rifles
Heavy4.5 mm: 0.87 g and up · 5.5 mm: 1.64 g and upHigh-power PCP air rifles and longer range

The weights are examples from the JSB Exact range.

Test a few tins. Every barrel has its favourite pellets. Buy 2–3 different ones, or a sample pack, and shoot them at the same distance. The number after the calibre (e.g. 4.50, 4.51 or 4.52) is the head diameter, and a single hundredth of a millimetre can make a difference.
