The range is from Baofeng, who make affordable, programmable handheld radios: the UV-5R and the UV-9R Plus. For the UV-5R there is a wireless programmer that makes it easier to load channels into the radio.
What to look for
Frequencies: Always check which frequencies you are permitted to transmit on before programming the radio – that applies both on the hunt and on the field.
Same radios across the team: Programming and sharing channels is easiest when everyone in the team uses the same model.
Programming: If you need to load many channels, a programmer saves a lot of time compared with keying them in on the radio.
