Night Vision

Night vision – see in the dark with night vision and thermal optics

When darkness falls, most riflescopes can no longer deliver a clear image. But with the right night vision device, a whole new world opens up. Whether you will use it for hunting, wildlife observation or professional surveillance, modern technology lets you see details the naked eye could never pick up. We carry a focused range of both digital night vision and advanced thermal devices.

Night vision vs. thermal: which should you choose?

To choose the right equipment for your needs, it is important to know the difference between the two technologies:

  • Night vision (digital night optics): This technology amplifies existing ambient light (moon, stars) or uses an invisible infrared (IR) illuminator to light up the area. It gives a classic, detailed image in which you can recognise faces and specific details on an animal. It works perfectly with your air rifles for pest control at night.

  • Thermal imaging: Here the device doesn't see light but heat. Everything living (and machinery) gives off heat, which the thermal sensor picks up and converts into an image. The advantage is that you can spot an animal through dense undergrowth, fog or total darkness at long distances, as the heat signature stands out clearly.

Get more from your time outdoors

A night vision device can either be handheld for observation or mounted directly on your rifle as a sight. If you choose a model for mounting, remember to check your rail type:

  1. Mounting: Many night vision devices come with or require specific mounts, often for 22 mm Picatinny rails, which are standard on most PCP air rifles.

  2. Stability: As night optics are often used at longer distances, a shooting stick or bipod can be an indispensable help in keeping the image steady.

Accessories and maintenance

High-tech optics need correct handling to perform at their best:

  • Care: The lenses on a night vision device are extremely sensitive. Only use approved products from our range of gun care and cleaning products to keep the glass clean.

  • Safety: Even when you can see in the dark, safety must come first. Always wear shooting glasses when shooting.

  • Transport: Protect your valuable optics against knocks and moisture in one of our padded backpacks or bags.

Whether you are looking for a digital solution for pest control or a thermal spotter for observation, our team in Aulum, Denmark, is ready to advise you on the right equipment, so you are never held back by the dark again.
