Magazine pouches (mag pouches) keep your spare magazines ready on your vest, chest rig or belt. Here you will find pouches for pistol magazines, M4/AR magazines, AK and 7.62 magazines in single, double and triple versions, most with MOLLE mounting so you can place them exactly where they suit your loadout. There are also a few pouches for shotgun shells.
The widest range comes from Conquer Tactical, with single, double and triple pouches for M4 and pistol. Invader Gear and Nuprol (PMC series) cover M4 and pistol in black, tan, coyote and multicam, while 101 Inc has elastic M4 pouches. At the more rugged end are Tasmanian Tiger and Pentagon (Elpis series), and Task Force 2215 has pouches with a hook and loop back for velcro panels. Phoenix HHA pouches, Reflex pouches, FMA 7.62 pouches, Miltec and Swiss Arms round off the range.
What to look for
Magazine type: An M4 pouch fits STANAG-size magazines, but AK and 7.62 magazines are wider and often curved. Pistol pouches are narrow and fit double-stack pistol magazines – check the dimensions if you use a larger magazine.
Open or closed: Elastic and open-top pouches give the fastest reloads. Pouches with a flap or bungee hold the magazine better when you crawl and run through the terrain.
Number: Single pouches give flexible placement, while double and triple pouches fit more magazines into less space and fewer MOLLE rows.
Mounting: Most pouches use MOLLE/PALS. If you have a vest or panel with velcro, choose a hook and loop version.
Colour: Match the pouch to your vest and clothing – black, tan, coyote, OD and multicam are all available.
