Lens Protectors
A BB hitting the glass of your red dot or holographic sight at close range can scratch it or, at worst, shatter the lens. A lens protector sits in front of the sight and takes the hit, so you can keep using the sight. Here you will find both protectors for use during games and covers that keep dust, rain and scratches away in transport.
Element has optics covers in a small and a large version, and Cybergun has a round lens protector. From ASG comes a lens protector that mounts on the rail in front of the sight, and King Arms has a neoprene cover in OD for the Holo 551. For riflescopes we have a cover set in tan.
What to look for
- For games or storage: A protector in front of the lens is used during games. A neoprene cover only protects the sight while it is not in use.
- Size and shape: Measure the opening of your sight and choose a protector that covers the whole lens – round for tube sights, larger for holographic sights.
- Mounting: Some protectors mount on the rail, others directly on the sight. Check that there is room on the rail in front of your sight.
Who it suits
For the airsoft player with a red dot or holographic sight who wants to avoid replacing the sight after the first CQB game. See also sights and optics.
