What type of pellet to choose?
To choose the right pellets for exactly your airgun is always difficult. Its a jungle out there, a jungle of many different types of pellets for every occasion. These include diabol, flat, pointed, rounded, high-power (PBA) not to forget the specialty pellets for pest control. In short chosing the correct pellet for you and your gun can be quite the hassle and often calls for some amount of trial and error to find the perfect pellet.
Looking at the different types of pellets:
Diabol - Diabol pellets are the most common and allround good pellets that can be used in most types of airguns. Diabol pellets have a rounded front that results in really good aerodynamics well suited for longer range shooting.
Flat pellet - Flat pellets have as the name suggests a flat front that as opposed to other pellets wont destroy paper targets and is therefor great for target shooting.
Pointed pellet - Pointed pellets have as the name suggests a pointed front, these are best for airguns with low exit speeds as they are a little unreliable in the air.
Round pellet - Round pellets are primarily made for use in airguns where they work like a charm and fit perfectly in the magazines.
Highspeed pellet - These pellets are special as they have a very unique shape that can increase the exit speed by up to 25% they are often lighter pellets and can therefor be harder to control in very powerful airguns with exitspeeds of up to 360 m/s
Specialty pellet - Specialty pellets are often made exclusively for pest control. most of these pellets can be PBA, Hollowpoint, Expander and so on. They all have one thing in common, they expand on impact making them more destructive.
