The WE XDM is WE's gas blowback pistol (GBB) based on the Springfield Armory XD(M). This category brings together spare parts for the platform – first and foremost the small springs, pins and screws that wear, break or go missing when the pistol is stripped for cleaning and maintenance – plus a few upgrades for the sight picture.
Almost all parts come from WE itself: springs, pins, screws, hammer, hammer spring, cylinder spring, firing pin, trigger bar, lifting paddle, retaining arm and frame stop. The largest single part is WE's mount bridge for the XDM. From AIP there is a set of aluminium front and rear sights with fibre inserts for the WE XDM.
What to look for
Part number: The parts are named after the numbers in WE's exploded diagram – either as X numbers (e.g. #X-83) or as plain numbers (e.g. part 42 or part 60). Find the number in your pistol's manual before ordering, so you get exactly the right spring or pin.
Model: Check that your pistol is a WE XDM. Parts for other WE platforms, such as the G series or M1911, may look similar but are not made for the XDM.
Replace wear parts together: Once you have the pistol stripped, it pays to replace the hammer spring, cylinder spring and the other small springs in one go, so you don't have to strip it again shortly after.
Lubrication: With the pistol stripped anyway, it is the obvious time to lubricate sliding surfaces and seals with a thin silicone oil, such as Waldo's slim silicone oil, so the parts move freely when the pistol is reassembled.
Sights and mount: The AIP sights replace the standard sights with aluminium front and rear sights with fibre, while WE's mount bridge is for those who want to fit equipment to the pistol.
