About Maple Leaf I-Key

The Maple Leaf I-Key is a hard-wearing adjustment key for the hop-up system in Tokyo Marui and WE G-series gas pistols – the G17, G18 and G19, which follow Glock numbering. The I-Key is the small key part in the hop-up unit that the hop-up adjustment works through, and it is typically replaced when the original part is worn or the hop-up setting no longer holds.

The hop-up in a gas pistol is subjected to lots of small adjustments and to the vibration of every blowback shot. A worn or deformed key introduces play in the system, so the setting can drift during a game and BBs start to vary in height. Maple Leaf makes the I-Key in metal with a focus on durability, so the adjustment stays put. Note that Maple Leaf makes a separate T-Key for Glock clones from e.g. VFC and Stark Arms, which use a different hop-up design – the I-Key is specifically for the TM and WE standard.

Maple Leaf I-Key – key features

These are the most important features:

  • Fits TM and WE G17/G18/G19: Made for the hop-up system in Tokyo Marui and WE G-series gas pistols, which share the same design at this point.
  • Hard-wearing metal construction: Maple Leaf highlights its durability, and metal stands up to repeated adjustment better than a worn original part.
  • Stable hop-up setting: Less play in the adjustment means the setting you have dialled in stays put through the game day.
  • For repair and upgrade: An obvious part to replace along with a new hop-up bucking, or whenever the hop-up is stripped anyway.
  • Fitting service: If you are not used to stripping a gas pistol, our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can fit it for you.

Maintenance and safety

  • Empty the magazine of gas and remove it before stripping the pistol.
  • The part is small – work over a tray or a cloth so it does not disappear during fitting.
  • Re-zero the hop-up after fitting with the BBs you play with – e.g. Hank Tactical BIO 0.25 g or 0.28 g.
  • Always wear eye protection when test-firing the pistol after fitting.
