How to upgrade your gas or CO2 airsoft pistol

Gas and CO2 pistols are popular with players for their realism and compact size. A few upgrades can improve their performance, accuracy and durability. These are your options:

Hop-up and accuracy

• Hop-up bucking: Replacing the hop-up bucking can improve accuracy and range. Choose a type that suits your needs – for example a softer bucking for low muzzle velocity and a harder one for higher muzzle velocity.
• Inner barrel: A precision barrel with a tighter bore (e.g. 6.01 mm) gives more stability and better accuracy, especially at longer distances.

Seals and sealing

• O-rings and seals: Replacing or lubricating the seals keeps your pistol airtight so it makes the most of its gas or CO2. This reduces the risk of leaks and improves efficiency.
• Valves: Upgrade the gas valves for a more stable gas flow and more consistent shots.

External upgrades

• Slide and frame: Upgrading to a metal slide adds weight and durability. It feels more realistic and makes the pistol more robust over time.
• Magazines: Use higher-capacity magazines or magazines with better gas/CO2 efficiency for longer play time.

Trigger and blowback

• Trigger group: Upgrading the trigger group can improve response time and give a smoother trigger pull.

Remember to maintain your pistol regularly after upgrading. Lubricate the moving parts with silicone oil and check that seals and valves are in good condition.
