About Hatsan Repex PCP, Semi-Automatic, 4.5 mm, FDE
The Hatsan Repex is a semi-automatic PCP air rifle in 4.5 mm – here in Flat Dark Earth (FDE). Semi-automatic means the next pellet is fed automatically with every shot, so you can fire again without cycling manually. With a 432 mm barrel and an adjustable polymer stock, the overall length is only 800–860 mm, and the weight is approx. 2250 g. That makes the Repex one of the more compact PCP rifles that still has a full stock to shoulder.
The Repex is Hatsan's rifle version of the Velox platform. The air is held in a 165 cc cylinder filled to 250 bar, and Hatsan quotes up to 70 shots per fill in 4.5 mm. Top velocity is 295 m/s with up to 25 J. Because the semi-automatic action uses air to cycle, the compact cylinder gives fewer shots than an equivalent repeater – in return you get fast follow-up shots in a light and handy format.
Hatsan Repex – key features
The Repex combines semi-automatic fire and compact dimensions in one package:
- Semi-automatic PCP: One trigger pull – one shot, and the next pellet is ready. Compared with a sidelever or bolt-action repeater, you don't have to move your hand between shots, so the sight picture stays steady.
- 14-shot magazine: The detachable rotary magazine holds 14 pellets in 4.5 mm. According to Hatsan USA, two magazines are included, and the pistol grip has room to store a spare.
- Only 800–860 mm and approx. 2250 g: The overall length is shorter than many carbines, and the weight is low for a semi-automatic PCP rifle. That makes the Repex easy to handle and transport.
- 165 cc cylinder, 250 bar: The cylinder is filled via a quick-fill nipple and has a built-in pressure gauge. Hatsan quotes up to 70 shots per fill in 4.5 mm.
- Combined 11 mm / 22 mm rail: The rail takes both 11 mm dovetail and 22 mm Weaver mounts, and the fibre-optic open sights can be used until you have fitted optics.
Maintenance and safety
- Fill pressure: Never fill above 250 bar, and only use dry, filtered air from a high-pressure pump with moisture filter or a scuba/PCP tank.
- Refill in time: A semi-automatic action needs sufficient pressure to cycle reliably. Keep an eye on the gauge and refill before the pressure gets too low.
- Magazine and barrel: Keep the magazines free of dirt and lead residue, and clean the barrel with a pull-through and felt pellets as needed.
- Safe handling: Always treat a semi-automatic rifle as loaded as long as a magazine is fitted. Store it unloaded, without magazine and with the safety on.
