About Storm Air Hunter FX Pellets, 4.5 mm, 400 pcs

Storm Air Hunter FX are heavy .177 (4.5 mm) diabolo pellets from Storm Air, our own brand. Each pellet weighs 0.750 g (11.57 grains) and has a pointed, parabolic head with a pronounced ring behind the tip, and the tin holds 400 pellets. They are made for powerful air rifles shooting at medium and longer ranges.

Pellet weight is the most important choice you make when matching ammunition to your airgun. A heavy pellet like the Hunter FX leaves the muzzle slower than a light pellet from the same rifle, but holds its velocity better downrange and is less affected by wind. In return it takes energy to drive it: in powerful PCP air rifles and high-power springers or gas rams, heavy pellets typically give a more stable trajectory, while low-powered air rifles and pistols will see a steeply dropping trajectory.

Heavy 0.750 g pellets for powerful air rifles

Key features:

  • 0.750 g weight: Heavier than standard .177 pellets, which typically weigh around 0.5 g – giving better stability over distance and less wind drift.
  • Parabolic head: The pointed, aerodynamic shape has less drag than a flat wadcutter head and keeps the trajectory flat.
  • Pronounced ring behind the head: The ring and the skirt are the parts that contact the barrel, while the body in between is slimmer – keeping friction down.
  • For powerful airguns: Best in PCP air rifles and powerful springers and gas rams; for lower-powered airguns a lighter pellet such as Storm Air Precision Point is a better choice.
  • 400 pcs per tin: The tin keeps the pellets together and protects the soft skirts from being squashed in transit.

Maintenance and safety

  • Test the pellet in your own airgun, and re-zero your sight when you change pellet weight – the point of impact will shift.
  • Discard deformed pellets; a squashed skirt ruins accuracy and can get stuck in the barrel.
  • The pellets contain lead – wash your hands after use and keep the tin out of reach of children.
  • Always shoot at a suitable pellet trap and wear shooting glasses.
