About Hatsan Gladius, .177 (4.5 mm), PCP
The Gladius is Hatsan's sidelever PCP in a bullpup design: a rifle that gets the full benefit of its barrel, but in a short, manageable package. What sets the Gladius apart is the power adjuster, which lets you choose between 6 power levels with a twist.
In .177 (4.5 mm) Hatsan quotes up to 325 m/s and 30 J on the highest setting. The removable 255 cc aluminium cylinder is filled to 200 bar and gives about 120 shots per fill, of which around 65 are at optimum velocity.
Hatsan Gladius – what you need to know
- 6-step power adjuster: According to Hatsan from around 7 J on step 1 to 30 J on step 6 – so you can turn it down for short-range shooting and up for longer distances without tools.
- 10-shot magazine: With an "anti-double pellet feed" that prevents two pellets entering the barrel.
- QuietEnergy: Fully shrouded barrel with an integrated moderator, according to Hatsan around 50 % quieter. The barrel is 495 mm.
- Quattro two-stage trigger: Adjustable metal match trigger, with both travel and pull weight adjustable.
- Compact bullpup: 875 mm long and 4650 g, with thumbhole, height-adjustable cheek piece, adjustable butt pad and a rail for 11 mm and 22 mm mounts. Supplied in a hard case.
Who is it for?
For shooters who want one compact rifle that can be set up for everything from relaxed short-range target shooting to full power at longer distances.
Maintenance and safety
Never fill above 200 bar. Spare cylinders are available. A PCP pump is sold separately: see pumps and compressors here. Store the rifle unloaded with the magazine removed.
