About Hatsan BT65 SB QE, 4.5 mm, PCP
The Hatsan BT65 SB QE is a PCP air rifle in .177 (4.5 mm) with a side bolt, 10-shot rotary magazine and fully shrouded barrel with integrated moderator. The removable 255 cc air cylinder is filled to 200 bar, and the rifle shoots up to 380 m/s, which according to Hatsan corresponds to approx. 40 J.
High power in 4.5 mm costs air: Hatsan quotes approx. 70 shots per fill, of which around 30 are at optimum velocity, because the rifle is unregulated and velocity drops as pressure falls. In return you get a fully featured rifle with an adjustable stock, QuietEnergy moderator and a removable cylinder that can be swapped for a filled spare. At 1240 mm and approx. 4400 g it is a large rifle that sits steady through the shot.
Powerful PCP rifle with QuietEnergy
These are the key technical features:
- QuietEnergy barrel: The 585 mm choked barrel is fully shrouded with an integrated moderator, which according to Hatsan makes the rifle approx. 50 % quieter than without.
- Side bolt and 10-shot magazine: The bolt sits on the side of the action, so you can reload without breaking your grip and cheek weld. A spare magazine is included, and a mechanism prevents double-loading of pellets.
- Removable 255 cc cylinder: The aluminium cylinder has a built-in pressure gauge and quick-fill nipple. Hatsan's anti-knock system prevents the valve from releasing air if the rifle takes a knock.
- Adjustable thumbhole stock: Ambidextrous stock with Monte Carlo cheek piece, a comb that adjusts for height with a coin, and a butt pad adjustable for length, height and angle. Picatinny rail under the fore-end, for example for a bipod.
- Quattro two-stage trigger: The match trigger adjusts for both travel and trigger pull and has a gold-coloured trigger blade and metal trigger guard. The action has dovetails for both 11 mm and 22 mm mounts.
Maintenance and safety
- Only fill with clean, dry air from a PCP pump, compressor or air tank – for example a Storm Air PCP pump or Storm Air PCP compressor – and never above 200 bar.
- Keep the fill nipple clean and covered, and empty the cylinder with the included degassing cap before removing it.
- Clean the barrel regularly and keep the O-rings on the cylinder and fill nipple clean.
- Remove the magazine and engage the safety before putting the rifle away. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase. Wear eye protection, and store the rifle unloaded and out of reach of children.
