About Hank Tactical 7.4 V LiPo, 1450 mAh, Crane
The Hank Tactical 7.4 V LiPo with 1,450 mAh is a two-piece crane stock battery with a mini Tamiya connector. The two cells are separate and joined by a wire, so the battery can be split between the side compartments of a crane stock or other narrow battery spaces where a one-piece stick battery will not fit.
7.4 V is the standard voltage for the vast majority of AEGs, and LiPo cells deliver current faster and hold their voltage more steadily than NiMH of the same size. With a 30C discharge rate there is plenty of current for a standard gearbox, without pushing contacts and motor with a higher voltage. Each cell measures 115 × 15 × 7 mm, and the battery weighs 59 g.
Two-piece crane stock battery for AEGs
Why the battery suits many AEGs:
- Crane format: Two slim cells that each fit in the side compartments of a crane stock – the form factor many M4 AEGs are built around.
- 7.4 V: The standard voltage for AEGs; gives a good trigger response without the extra strain on gearbox and contacts that 11.1 V brings.
- 1,450 mAh: Capacity decides how many shots you get per charge; 1,450 mAh is a compromise that keeps the cells small enough for narrow battery spaces.
- 30C discharge rate: Delivers enough current for fast motor response; LiPo also holds its voltage more steadily through the discharge than NiMH.
- Mini Tamiya connector: Plugs straight into the many AEGs that ship with Tamiya. If your gun has a Deans connector, there is the same battery with a Deans connector.
Maintenance and safety
- Only charge with a LiPo balance charger, such as the Hank Tactical LiPo charger, and never leave it charging unattended.
- Store the battery in a LiPo safety bag and at storage voltage if it will not be used for a while.
- Remove the battery from the gun after use so it does not discharge completely – a deeply discharged LiPo can be permanently damaged.
- A swollen, dented or damaged battery must not be used or charged.
