ASG Tactical Shotgun

The ASG Tactical Shotgun is a compact, spring-powered airsoft pump shotgun with a pistol grip. You cock the spring by working the pump back and forward before each shot, and it needs neither battery nor gas. That makes it easy for new players to get started with and a natural choice for casual shooting and short indoor distances.

Spring-powered replicas are the most reliable type in airsoft: there are no electronics to fail and no gas to lose pressure in the cold. On the other hand, each pump gives one shot, so the game becomes calmer and more tactical than with an AEG. It shoots approx. 90 m/s with 0.20 g BBs, weighs 470 g and is built from polymer, so it is easy to carry all day.

These are the key features:

• Spring-powered pump action: Each pump cocks the spring and feeds a new BB. The mechanism is simple and has few wear parts compared with an electric shotgun.
• Adjustable hop-up: The hop-up is set with a wheel on the side of the receiver, so you can tune the trajectory to your BB weight. That is not a given on budget spring replicas, where the hop-up is often fixed.
• 17-round box magazine: The BBs sit in a detachable box magazine rather than in shells, so you can change quickly and do not have to pick up cases.
• Top rail: The rail on top of the receiver takes a red dot sight, which makes fast target acquisition easier than with open sights.
• Compact with pistol grip: The short barrel and pistol grip make it easy to manoeuvre through doorways and narrow corridors. Without a stock, however, it is less stable at longer distances.

Maintenance and safety

• Do not leave the replica cocked for long periods – it strains the spring and lowers velocity over time.
• Use clean, round Seamless BBs, such as Hank Tactical BIO, to keep the hop-up bucking and barrel free of dirt and jammed BBs.
• Clean the barrel with a cleaning rod if accuracy drops, and keep foreign objects out of the magazine.
