Umarex Steel BBs, 1500 pcs, 4.5 mm (.177)

Umarex steel BBs in 4.5 mm (.177) are BB ammunition for smoothbore air rifles and air pistols built to fire steel BBs. The bottle holds approx. 1,500 polished steel BBs and has a narrow spout with a cap, so you can fill magazines and reservoirs directly without spilling.

BB guns have different requirements from pellet guns: the BBs must be perfectly round and of a consistent diameter, otherwise they jam in magazine tubes and feed mechanisms. Umarex manufactures the BBs with a focus on roundness and hardness to reduce feeding problems, and the polished surface slides easily through magazine and barrel. That is also why this is the type of BB Umarex itself recommends for its BB guns.

What you need to know about the BBs:

• For BB guns only: Steel BBs are for smoothbore guns where the manufacturer specifies BBs. In a rifled barrel, steel wears the barrel – use diabolo pellets instead.
• Consistent size: Roundness and an even diameter reduce feeding problems in spring-fed magazine tubes and reservoirs.
• Polished surface: The smooth surface gives low friction through magazine and barrel and a more consistent velocity.
• Approx. 1,500 pcs: Enough for plenty of strings – for example 30 full magazines in the Daisy PowerLine Model 25 at 50 BBs per fill.
• Bottle with spout: The narrow spout makes it easy to pour the BBs straight into the loading port, for example on the Umarex DX17.

Maintenance and safety

• Steel BBs can ricochet off hard surfaces. Shoot at a pellet trap that catches the BBs, and never at concrete, stone or metal.
• Wear shooting glasses – both the shooter and anyone watching.
• Keep the bottle dry and closed so the BBs do not rust and become rough.
• Do not reuse deformed or scratched BBs – they can cause feeding problems.
