SilencerCo Maxim 9 GBB

The SilencerCo Maxim 9 from Krytac is a licensed gas blowback pistol modelled on the world's first commercial pistol with an integrated suppressor. The distinctive profile, with the suppressor built in ahead of the slide, gives a compact pistol of 240–275 mm depending on configuration – shorter than a standard pistol with a screw-on suppressor.

Krytac has built the slide and suppressor section in CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminium, while the frame is fibre-reinforced polymer with an aggressive texture. The pistol takes both green gas and CO2 magazines without modification and delivers approx. 0.9 J, equivalent to around 95 m/s with 0.20 g BBs. A hidden selector at the rear of the slide allows both semi and full-auto fire.

Maxim 9 – key features

The most important technical features:

• Modular suppressor section: The suppressor section can be used in a short or long configuration, just like the original. That gives you the choice between a compact pistol for a holster and a longer profile with room for a tracer.
• Optics cut: The slide is prepared for Krytac's Multi-footprint plate (sold separately), which fits RMR, RMRcc and RMS footprints. That lets you mount a mini red dot directly on the slide.
• Tracer-ready with fixed threaded barrel: The 115 mm inner barrel is fixed and has a 12 mm CW thread, and the suppressor section is designed for the Acetech BiFrost tracer with extension kit (sold separately) – for games in the dark and indoors.
• Semi and full auto: The hidden selector at the rear of the slide lets you switch to full auto, where according to Krytac the pistol fires approx. 13 rounds per second.
• Ambidextrous and glove-friendly: The controls work for both left- and right-handed shooters, and the enlarged trigger guard leaves room for tactical gloves. KeyMod slots allow for a light or laser.

Maintenance and safety

• Lightly lubricate the slide rails and O-rings with airsoft silicone oil, and store the magazine with a little gas in it to keep the seals tight.
• Gas efficiency drops in the cold – consider a CO2 magazine (sold separately) for winter games, and keep the green gas magazine warm between shots.
• Only use gas intended for airsoft and good-quality BBs, such as Hank Tactical BIO. Our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can help with fitting a tracer or optic plate.
• Always wear approved eye protection, and transport the pistol in a closed bag or holster.
