About Cyma DD MK18 CGS GBBR
The Cyma DD MK18 CGS GBBR is a gas blowback replica of the MK18 carbine with a Daniel Defense-style RIS II handguard and an overall length of 700 mm. The short carbine is built for CQB and play in buildings, where a short rifle and realistic recoil give a completely different experience from an AEG.
The rifle is part of Cyma's CGS series (Cyma Gas System), which is based on Tokyo Marui's MWS system and is therefore compatible with many MWS parts. It fires semi and full auto at approx. 1 J, equivalent to around 100 m/s with 0.20 g BBs according to the supplier, and uses 30-round gas magazines. The inner barrel is 330 mm, and the muzzle thread is 14 mm CCW.
Compact GBBR with recoil
The MK18 gives you the realistic handling and recoil that GBBR players are after.
- Gas blowback: The bolt cycles on every shot and gives noticeable recoil, and it locks back when the magazine is empty – just like the original.
- CGS based on MWS: The system is based on Tokyo Marui's MWS, so many upgrade parts and magazines for the MWS platform fit – an advantage over a closed, proprietary system.
- RIS II handguard: The quad-rail handguard gives Picatinny rails for a light, laser and foregrip, so the rifle can be set up for CQB.
- Semi and full auto: The rifle can fire both semi and full auto, and the hop-up is adjustable.
- Short form factor: At 700 mm with a 330 mm inner barrel, the rifle is quick to manoeuvre in tight rooms and easy to take along in the car and in a bag.
Maintenance and safety
Store the magazine with a little gas in it so the seals stay tight, and give valves and seals a drop of silicone oil at regular intervals. Gas loses pressure in the cold, so expect lower performance and slower cycling in winter – keep magazines warm between shots. Clean the barrel when accuracy drops, store the replica locked away and out of reach of children, and always wear approved eye protection. Check the rules on buying and owning airsoft replicas in your country.
