VSR Cylinder Parts
The cylinder is the heart of a spring-powered sniper rifle: this is where the spring's energy is turned into the air pressure that sends the BB on its way. Leaks, a worn piston or a tired spring are therefore felt directly in both range and consistency. In this category you will find parts for the cylinder in the VSR-10 platform – complete cylinder sets, pistons, springs, spring guides and O-ring sets.
PDI supplies most of the parts, including Palsonite cylinder sets in Premier and Precision versions, a RAVEN cylinder set and pistons in Hard, Vacuum and BaRiKaRu Compo versions. Action Army has springs in M120, M130, M150 and VM170, a twisted cylinder, an aluminium piston and a 7 mm spring guide, and ORGA has Magnus springs – including one designed for PDI's cylinder sets. From TTI Airsoft comes a 90-degree piston. The smallest parts are O-ring sets.
What to look for
- Spring strength: The M number indicates the spring's strength. A higher value gives more power, but also puts more load on the piston, sear and trigger. Check the velocity limit at the site you play before choosing a spring.
- Piston and trigger: The rear of the piston must match your trigger system – Action Army, for example, has pistons with an angled rear. Check whether your trigger set requires a specific piston.
- Spring guide: The spring guide must fit both spring and cylinder. Look at the diameter and whether it is made for a standard VSR or a specific cylinder set.
- Complete set or single parts: A cylinder set is made to work together and is the safe choice for a bigger upgrade. Single parts make sense when one specific part is worn.
- O-rings: Loss of compression is often caused by worn O-rings on the piston head or cylinder head. It is worth keeping a set to hand.
Barrels, triggers, receivers and stocks are under all VSR-10 spare parts.
Who it's for
For the sniper player who wants a tighter, more consistent compression or needs to replace worn parts in the cylinder. The job takes some experience of stripping a VSR – otherwise our workshop can help.
