Benchmade – knives from Oregon City, USA

Benchmade is one of the best-known names in the knife world. The company's roots go back to 1979, when it started in California, and today it has its headquarters and its own factory in Oregon City, USA. Benchmade makes both folding knives and fixed blade knives – for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, work and collectors.

We carry a wide range of Benchmade: from the lightweight Bugout and the classic Osborne to the hunting knives of the Hunt series. If we do not have the model in the shop, it ships from our supplier as remote stock.

The AXIS lock

Many of Benchmade's folding knives have the AXIS lock – a spring-loaded lock that Benchmade holds the exclusive rights to. The lock works from both sides of the handle, so the knife is equally easy to open and close for right- and left-handed users.

The Hunt series for the hunter

Benchmade's Hunt series is developed for hunting. Here you will find the Saddle Mountain Skinner, Crooked River, Taggedout, Hidden Canyon Hunter, Raghorn, Grizzly Creek and Steep Country, among others, plus the Meatcrafter for boning and butchering. For anglers there are the Adira, Mini Adira, Undercurrent and Intersect.

Blue, black and gold

Benchmade divides its knives into classes, which you can see from the colour of the logo: blue for recreation and outdoors, black for professional users such as military, police and rescue personnel, and gold for collectors and limited editions.

LifeSharp – service for life

Benchmade offers lifetime sharpening and servicing of their knives through LifeSharp. Customers outside the USA can also use the service through Benchmade's international service. If you want to maintain the edge yourself, we carry the Benchmade Work Sharp knife sharpener.

Caring for your Benchmade

A sharp knife is a safe knife. Keep the edge sharp with a knife sharpener, wipe the knife after use – especially after hunting and fishing – and give the mechanism a drop of oil now and then. If the knife becomes dull or needs servicing, you can use Benchmade's LifeSharp service.

Folding knife or fixed blade?

A folding knife is easy to carry because the blade sits protected in the handle. A fixed blade knife has no joint, so it is simple to clean and very strong – which is why many hunting knives are fixed blades. The Hunt series has both.

Rules on carrying knives in public differ from country to country. Check the regulations in your country before you carry a knife, and use the knife for what it is made for.

Which Benchmade should I choose?

It means the knife is not physically in our shop in Aulum, but ships from our supplier. Send us a message if you need it by a specific date.
