Benchmade 748BK-01 Narrows

The Benchmade 748 Narrows is a technically advanced folding knife for everyday carry (EDC) and outdoor use, designed to reduce thickness and weight as far as possible without compromising mechanical strength. It is the thinnest folding knife in Benchmade's range, which makes it very discreet to carry in the pocket.

Ultra-slim titanium handle and blue details

The construction of the knife breaks with traditional thickness standards for folding knives:

• 6Al-4V titanium handle: The handle is machined from solid titanium, giving very high stiffness and durability. The handle is only 7.11 mm thick, making the knife about 33% thinner than many standard folding knives.

• Minimal weight: Despite the metal construction, the total weight is just 69 g. That makes it comfortable to carry in thin fabrics or jacket pockets.

• Mini Deep Carry clip and lanyard hole: The knife has a compact clip that allows deep placement in the pocket, plus an integrated hole for fitting a lanyard at the butt end.

Drop-point blade in Böhler M390 powder steel

The blade is dimensioned with a slim profile for precise cutting tasks:

• Böhler M390 super steel (58–61 HRC): The 87.1 mm blade is made from the well-regarded M390 powder steel. The steel stands out for excellent wear resistance, long edge retention and a very high chromium content that gives strong protection against corrosion and rust.

• Slim blade profile: The blade is only 2.03 mm thick with a classic, versatile drop-point shape. The thin geometry markedly reduces cutting resistance. This variant comes with a black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) finish for increased wear resistance.

Updated Slim AXIS® Lock and fully Ambidextrous

To fit the 7 mm handle, Benchmade has re-engineered its mechanical lock system. The knife uses an ultra-slim version of the familiar AXIS® Lock, which locks the blade open via a crossbar and new special springs. The system is operated one-handed in the same way from both the right and left side of the handle. Because the pocket clip can also be moved, the knife is fully Ambidextrous.

The knife is made in the USA at Benchmade's factory in Oregon.
