Umarex
In 2017, Umarex got the global license for the first time ever to make Airsoft Glock pistols. Without saying too much, we are almost sure that all airsoft manufacturers have tried to get a license to produce "real" Glock Replicas. Cybergun has the rights to Glock in French territory, while Umarex has the rights to the rest of the world.
The Glock 17 was the first pistol from Gaston Glock. In 1980, the Austrian military asked for a new pistol to replace the old Walther P38. The Austrian Ministry of Defense made a list of 17 criteria that had to be met before a pistol could be approved. The name Glock 17 actually came about because this pistol was the 17th patent that Gaston applied for. Bonus info, he actually had a working prototype made in just 3 months that met all 17 criteria.
This model is a GEN5, which is the 5th generation of Glock 17 pistols, which is the newest generation of pistols from Glock.
The airsoft version is exactly like the real gun. Generation 5 has been completely redesigned compared to older generations. It has a completely new frame where, for example, the space for the fingers has been removed for a better grip with the knurled grip.
The gun here comes like the real thing with a polymer lower part and a metal slide at the top that moves back and forth when fired (Blow Back).
It is also ambidextrous, which means it can be used by both right- and left-handed shooters.
