Snowpeak PP750L PCP Air Pistol

The Snowpeak PP750L is a regulated PCP air pistol in .177 (4.5 mm) with a sidelever, magazine and a removable, adjustable shoulder stock. Without the stock it is a compact pistol; with the stock fitted you get shoulder contact that makes it much easier to hold your aim steady – in practice a small carbine built on a pistol frame.

The PP750L is built on the same platform as the PP750, but the stock is more adjustable: the length of pull can be set in three steps, and the butt pad can be raised and lowered, so the stock can be fitted to shooters of different sizes and to different shooting positions. The 66 cc air cylinder is filled to a maximum of 250 bar, and a built-in regulator keeps the shot pressure consistent, so velocity stays around 240 m/s through the fill instead of dropping with the pressure.

Compact PCP with stock and regulator

These are the features that make the difference on the PP750L:

• Built-in regulator: Without a regulator, velocity drops as the pressure in the cylinder falls. The regulator gives a fixed working pressure, so shots land more consistently and you can rely on your zero.
• Sidelever and 9-shot magazine: A short pull on the sidelever cocks the pistol and feeds the next pellet from the magazine. That gives fast, consistent loading compared with placing each pellet in the barrel by hand.
• Adjustable shoulder stock: The stock extends in three steps and can be removed completely. An extra contact point at the shoulder gives much more stability than a pistol held in the hand alone.
• 277 mm shrouded barrel: The barrel is longer than on most compact air pistols and sits inside a shroud that takes the edge off the muzzle report.
• Open sights and 11 mm rail: The pistol has open sights and an 11 mm dovetail rail for a red dot sight or a compact riflescope if you want to get more out of its accuracy.

Maintenance and safety

• Only fill with clean, dry air from a hand pump, compressor or air tank – and never above 250 bar. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge.
• PCP needs filling equipment: a hand pump or compressor must be bought as well if you do not already have one.
• Store the pistol unloaded with the magazine removed, and clean the barrel regularly with felt cleaning pellets.
• Check the air gun regulations in your country, including age limits, before purchase. Wear shooting glasses and use a safe pellet trap.
