About Snowpeak PP20 PCP Air Pistol
The Snowpeak PP20 is a .177 (4.5 mm) PCP air pistol built as a match pistol for 10 m target shooting. It is Snowpeak's entry point into precision pistol shooting: an adjustable beech match grip, adjustable trigger and a finely adjustable rear sight – at a price well below the classic European match pistols.
In 10 m shooting it is not power that counts, but that every shot behaves the same and that the pistol fits your hand. The PP20 shoots around 170 m/s, which is typical for a match pistol, and the valve is built for consistent shots. The removable 42 cc air cylinder has the pressure gauge at the front, so the pressure is easy to read between series.
Match pistol for 10 m
Key features:
- Adjustable beech grip: The beech grip has a textured surface and a height-adjustable palm shelf, so it can be fitted to small, medium and large hands. The grip is shaped for right-handed shooters.
- Adjustable match trigger: The trigger can be set for a light, predictable break – essential in a discipline where small movements of the hand shift the point of impact.
- Micrometer rear sight: The rear sight adjusts for elevation and windage, and the notch width can be set so the light around the foresight suits your eyes and the lighting on the range.
- 240 mm barrel: The long sight radius gives more precise aiming than a compact air pistol, where the front and rear sights sit close together.
- Low weight: At around 1100 g the PP20 is light enough to hold steady through a full series without your arm tiring too early.
Maintenance and safety
- Only fill with clean, dry air to the maximum pressure stated in the manual, and keep an eye on the pressure gauge.
- The pistol is supplied in a case with fill adapters and spare O-rings; a hand pump or compressor must be bought separately.
- Do not lubricate the valve or fill probe with ordinary oil – only use grease intended for high-pressure air.
- Check the air pistol regulations in your country before purchase. Wear shooting glasses and use a safe pellet trap.
