Om Nimrod Performance Red Gas
Nimrod Performance Red Gas is airsoft gas with a pressure of 12 bar at 20 °C – one step up from standard green gas at 10 bar. It is used in gas pistols, GBBRs and gas sniper rifles where you want more power and a stronger blowback, and the can holds 500 ml.
The pressure in a gas gun drops as the temperature falls. Red gas starts higher and therefore gives a buffer, so the gun still cycles reliably in cool spring and autumn weather, when green gas can start to give a weaker blowback. The price is more wear on slide and seals, so the gun must be built for it.
More pressure and more power – used with care
Red gas is for players who run green gas today and want more from a gun that can handle it.
- 12 bar at 20 °C: 20 % more pressure than green gas (10 bar) gives faster cycling and a more pronounced blowback.
- Better in cool weather: The higher starting pressure means the gun keeps its performance longer as the temperature drops.
- Not for plastic blowback slides: The extra power can break a plastic slide. Use green gas in pistols with a plastic slide.
- The middle step in the Nimrod range: Red sits between Nimrod Green Gas (10 bar) and Nimrod Black Gas (14 bar), so you can step up in pressure gradually instead of jumping straight to the strongest gas.
- 500 ml can: Enough for many magazine fills – how many depends on the gun and magazine.
Maintenance and safety
- Always check what pressure your gun can handle before switching from green to red gas.
- The can is pressurised. Store it somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight and open flames, and never expose it to temperatures above 50 °C.
- Fill the magazine with the can upright and the valve pointing down.
- Always wear eye protection when shooting.
