About Hatsan Model 125, .177 (4.5 mm)

The Hatsan Model 125 is a powerful break-barrel springer in .177 (4.5 mm) with a synthetic stock. You cock the rifle by breaking the barrel and load one diabolo pellet at a time. With up to 380 m/s, an overall length of 1240 mm and a weight of around 3800 g, it sits at the heavy end of the springer range.

High velocity in a springer requires a powerful spring, which means more recoil and vibration than in a light beginner's rifle. The Model 125 is built to handle that: Hatsan's SAS system damps vibration, the TRIOPAD butt pad absorbs recoil and the weight helps the rifle sit steady. On the other hand, it takes some effort to cock, so it is a rifle for adult shooters who want the most out of a spring system without a pump or air bottle.

Powerful springer with recoil control

These are the key technical features:

  • SAS (Shock Absorber System): Hatsan's shock absorber system significantly reduces vibration from the spring and piston. Less vibration means a steadier sight picture and less wear on a mounted riflescope.
  • TRIOPAD butt pad: A heavy rubber butt pad with three spacers, so the length of pull can be set in four steps. The correct length of pull is essential for a consistent cheek weld and eye relief to the scope.
  • Quattro two-stage trigger: The match trigger adjusts for both travel and pull weight, and the trigger blade is metal. A consistent trigger is particularly important in a springer, where the shot takes a little longer to leave the barrel.
  • Combined 11/22 mm rail: The rail takes both 11 mm and 22 mm mounts, and a scope stop is fitted to prevent the riflescope from creeping under recoil.
  • 450 mm rifled steel barrel: The barrel has a large muzzle brake that gives a good grip when cocking the rifle. TruGlo fibre-optic sights with a micro-adjustable rear sight are standard.

Maintenance and safety

  • Never fire without a pellet in the barrel. Dry-firing puts unnecessary strain on the spring, piston and seals and can shorten their life.
  • The rifle has a manual safety, an automatic safety when cocked and an anti-bear-trap safety. Hold the barrel firmly while loading.
  • Use a riflescope and mount designed for powerful springers, and check regularly that the screws are tight.
  • Clean the barrel at regular intervals and keep the metal parts lightly oiled. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase. Wear shooting glasses, and store the rifle unloaded and out of reach of children.
