About Galaxy G22
The Galaxy G22 is a spring-powered metal airsoft pistol modelled on the Beretta M92FS, but in a scaled-down version – so it is not a 1:1 replica. The pistol is cocked manually by pulling the slide back before each shot, and it needs neither gas nor batteries.
That makes the G22 a simple, inexpensive starting point for target shooting in the garden or as a first pistol. Spring pistols like this have no blowback and no hop-up, and at approx. 60 m/s with light BBs the range is short compared with a gas pistol. On the other hand, there is no gas to lose pressure in the cold, and the mechanism needs almost no maintenance.
Metal pistol with a simple spring mechanism
What sets the Galaxy G22 apart:
- Spring-powered: Each shot is cocked manually with the slide. It works the same at any temperature, whereas a gas pistol loses power when it gets cold.
- Metal body: Slide and frame are zinc alloy, giving a noticeably heavier and more solid pistol than the cheapest plastic pistols in the same class.
- M92-inspired design: The shape follows the Beretta M92FS with brown grip panels, but at a smaller scale, so the pistol is compact and easy to handle.
- Light BBs: The spring system is sized for 0.12 g BBs, which keep their speed best with a weak spring. We recommend Hank Tactical BIO 0.12 g.
- Magazine in the grip: The BBs are loaded into a small magazine that sits in the grip like on a real pistol, so there is no visible BB reservoir.
Maintenance and safety
- Always wear eye protection, also when target shooting in the garden – both the shooter and anyone standing nearby.
- Store the pistol uncocked and with no BBs in the magazine, so the spring is not left compressed for longer than necessary.
- Only use clean, undamaged 6 mm BBs – a deformed or dirty BB can get stuck in the barrel.
- Do not put oil in the barrel. A drop of silicone oil on the slide when needed is enough. You are welcome to test-fire airsoft replicas at our shop in Aulum, Denmark.
