• High-performance powder steel (HRC 59-61): Elmax is a well-regarded high-quality "super steel". Thanks to advanced powder metallurgy, the steel has a very homogeneous structure. This results in a good balance between very long edge retention, high corrosion resistance and a toughness that resists twisting and lateral loads.

• Flat drop-point profile: The 81.3 mm blade has a classic, versatile drop-point shape. The thin 2.29 mm blade stock makes the knife an excellent slicer that glides through everything from rope and cardboard to whittling and skinning small game.

• Protective Cerakote® finish: The blade is coated with a hard-wearing dark Cerakote® finish that protects against corrosion, wear and reflections in the field.

Light Grivory® handle and AXIS® Lock

The knife is designed to disappear completely in your pocket until you need it:

• Very light at 52.45 g: The handle is made of Taiga Green Grivory® – a high-tech glass-fibre reinforced polymer. It is very robust and dimensionally stable and keeps the total weight to a minimum without compromising ergonomics.

• AXIS® Lock: Benchmade's patented locking mechanism. The lock is easy to operate with one hand: pull the small bar back, give your hand a light flick, and the blade swings out or in. The lock bar locks the blade solidly in the open position.

Fully Ambidextrous – made for both right and left hand

The Benchmade Bugout is fully Ambidextrous. Thanks to the AXIS lock working from both sides and the included Mini Deep Carry pocket clip (which can be moved to either side), the knife can be operated equally well whichever hand you work with.
