About Amoeba Striker AST-01 Sniper, Black

The Amoeba Striker AST-01 is ARES' tactical version of the popular Striker platform – a spring-powered bolt-action sniper rifle built for the player who wants a light, modular rifle with plenty of adjustment straight out of the box. At around 3000 g and an overall length of just over a metre, it can be carried for a whole game day, and the short, low bolt handle profile makes it easy to manoeuvre in woodland and undergrowth.

The Striker series has built up a large range of spare parts and upgrades from both ARES and third parties, and the AST-01 uses the same parts and magazines as the AS-01, AS-02 and AS-03. That means the rifle can grow with you: you can start with the standard setup and later upgrade the spring, hop-up and barrel as you find your own level and the rules your site plays by.

AST-01 – key features

The focus is on ergonomics, adjustment and robust internals:

  • Adjustable stock and cheek piece: Both cheek piece and butt plate can be adjusted, so your eye sits correctly behind the scope. That gives a more stable cheek weld than a fixed stock, where you often have to compensate with your head position.
  • M-LOK on the fore-end: M-LOK slots at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock make it easy to mount a bipod, light or grip panel without extra rail sections – lighter and more streamlined than a full Picatinny fore-end.
  • Stainless steel cylinder housing: The upgraded stainless steel cylinder copes better with the load from stronger springs, and ARES has also improved BB feeding to the chamber for more consistent loading.
  • Ergonomic controls: The safety sits in front of the trigger, where your index finger naturally reaches it, and the magazine release is enlarged so it can be operated with gloves. The trigger is adjustable.
  • Part of the Striker ecosystem: Full compatibility with Striker spare parts and magazines makes maintenance and upgrading simple compared with more closed sniper platforms.

Maintenance and safety

  • Do not lubricate the cylinder and piston with ordinary oil – use airsoft silicone grease sparingly, and keep the inner barrel clean with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth.
  • Store the rifle uncocked so the spring is not compressed for long periods, and avoid firing it without a BB in the chamber.
  • Use good-quality precision BBs, such as Hank Tactical BIO, and adjust the hop-up to the BB weight. If you want a spring or barrel upgrade, our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can help with fitting so you stay within site limits.
  • Always wear approved eye protection and transport the rifle in a closed bag or case.
