American Goal Zero started back in 2007, when founder Robert Workman started the company after a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2008, the first portable solar cell called GoBe was delivered to Congo. It was essentially a solar cell, battery and an LED light.
Since then, things have progressed rapidly, and the company now employs lots of people and helps in all sorts of nasty disasters with power stations to provide power to people around the world who may not have their own.
