About Umarex Glock 17, Gas
2017 was the year Glock decided to accept airsoft as a field where it could license its name and have Glock airsoft pistols made. Cybergun in France was first with a CO2 G17, but only for the French market. Two months later Umarex received the licence to sell Glock replicas worldwide, and this pistol is the result.
One of the first models is this gas blowback Glock 17. It is made by Taiwanese VFC, known for producing high-quality airsoft guns, and it is specifically a Glock 17 Gen 3.
This airsoft version has the classic polymer frame and a metal blowback slide. It carries all the correct markings, including the Glock logo, and is very well finished. A small rail at the front takes a light or other accessories.
The blowback gives strong recoil when you shoot.
The pistol runs on gas, which is filled via the magazine as on almost all other gas models.
