About Wolverine Airsoft MTW-308 XBR

The Wolverine MTW-308 Tactical XBR is an HPA-powered DMR built on a CNC-machined billet aluminium receiver set in .308/SR-25 format. It has a 13" (330 mm) Invictus MK-1 handguard with M-LOK on seven sides, a 14.5" (368 mm) outer barrel with a supplied 1.5" (38 mm) extension and a steel Invictus MS-1 flash hider, and it weighs approx. 2270 g. The rifle is made for the player who wants to shoot accurately at range with a semi-automatic platform – the selector has two positions, safe and semi.

The XBR is the top version of the MTW-308 Tactical: X for the Inferno XTS engine, B for the BLINC Bluetooth FCU and R for the QUAKE MTW recoil stock. Where most HPA replicas shoot with no noticeable recoil, the Quake stock gives a distinct kick with every shot, while the HPA system keeps the stable performance that gas-powered rifles lose in the cold.

Inferno XTS, BLINC and QUAKE recoil

Five features that define the XBR version:

  • Inferno XTS HPA engine: Extended stroke engine with separate nozzle and poppet, giving a stable airflow and a fast trigger response. The rifle is supplied set to approx. 120 m/s with 0.20 g BBs (approx. 1.4 J), and 0.28–0.30 g BBs are recommended. Operating pressure is 80–140 psi.
  • BLINC Bluetooth FCU: Dwell, rate of fire and other parameters are set from your phone via Wolverine's app – without taking the rifle apart or opening the grip.
  • QUAKE MTW recoil stock: The stock gives noticeable recoil with every shot. That makes practising follow-up shots and sight picture more realistic than on a standard HPA rifle without recoil.
  • Billet .308 receiver with FRAC: The receiver comes apart without tools via steel pins, as on the original, and the fixed rear airline connector (FRAC) routes the air line out behind the receiver instead of through the grip. The inner barrel is 380 mm, and the muzzle has a 14 mm CCW thread.
  • SR-25 magazines and premium parts: MTW-spec 308 magazines give empty mag detection, and the rifle also takes A&K and Classic Army SR-25 AEG magazines – M4 magazines do not fit. A DLG Premium Real Steel grip and Crane stock are fitted from the factory.

Maintenance and safety

  • HPA tank, regulator and FCU battery are not included. The battery connects with a JST connector. Use a regulator that keeps the pressure within 80–140 psi.
  • Close the tank and degas the system before you disconnect the line or strip the rifle.
  • Disconnect the battery when the rifle is stored for longer periods, and check lines and fittings for damage before every use.
  • Always wear eye protection, and follow the site rules on joule limits and minimum engagement distance for DMRs.
