VSR Field-Ready Build Kit for VSR-10 and Clones

The VSR Field-Ready Build Kit is for you if you have a Tokyo Marui VSR-10 or one of the many VSR-10 clones and want it to shoot consistently and accurately on the field. The kit replaces the parts that typically limit a stock VSR: trigger and piston, spring, inner barrel and hop-up chamber. The spring is an M150, which sits in the range where a VSR performs best without being pushed beyond site limits for bolt-action rifles.

A VSR does not become accurate from a stronger spring alone. A heavier spring in a stock trigger wears the sear parts, and a stock hop-up chamber often gives a spread-out grouping because the pressure on the bucking is not centred. The kit is put together so that trigger and piston match each other and can handle the spring, and so that hop-up and barrel work together to give the BB a consistent spin. You can fit it yourself, or you can have our workshop assemble, set up and test it.

Matched trigger, TDC hop-up and precision barrel

The parts are chosen so the whole system from trigger to muzzle works together:

• Trigger with matching piston from Action Army: Trigger and piston come as one set for the VSR-10, so the sear and piston are made to engage with each other. That gives a more consistent release and copes better with an upgraded spring than the stock parts.
• Archwick TDC hop-up chamber in CNC aluminium: A true Top Dead Center design, where the pressure on the hop-up bucking is vertical and even. The chamber has double BB support, adjustment at both top and bottom and an O-ring that centres it in the outer barrel. It comes with hop-up nub, enlarged pressure plate and 60-degree hop-up bucking.
• 430 mm precision barrel (6.03 mm): The Archwick barrel is brass with a nickel-coated, polished bore. The tight bore gives more consistent BB passage than a stock barrel and fewer deviations in the grouping.
• Barrel spacers: The rings keep the inner barrel centred in the outer barrel so it does not vibrate or flex when firing. It is a small part, but it directly affects whether the BB leaves the barrel the same way every time.
• M150 round-wire steel spring: The spring is made for the TM VSR-10 and BAR-10 and gives more power than the stock spring, without pushing the build into the range where stronger springs cause wear and exceed site limits.

Maintenance and safety

• Fitting requires stripping the cylinder and trigger. If you have not done it before, we recommend fitting in our workshop
• Always measure the velocity on a chronograph with the BB weight you play with, and follow the site limits and safety distances for bolt-action rifles
• Keep the cylinder and piston lightly lubricated – too much grease costs power and can cause inconsistent shots
• Clean the precision barrel and hop-up bucking regularly, and turn the hop-up down before you change BB weight
• Always wear approved eye protection during games and testing
