About FX Pocket Chrono Pro
The FX Pocket Chrono Pro is a Doppler radar chronograph that measures projectile velocities from 60 to 1370 m/s. The wide range makes it suitable for both air guns and firearms, so you can use the same chronograph to tune a PCP rifle and to measure loads for your rifle.
Besides velocity, the Pro has built-in atmospheric sensors, a spirit level and a timer. That makes it a ballistic tool rather than a plain velocity meter: it can calculate the projectile's ballistic coefficient (BC) from the measurements and gather data you would otherwise need several different devices for. The chronograph has a 2" display, weighs 104 g and connects to the FX Radar app via Bluetooth. A mount that fits both Weaver/Picatinny and Arca-Swiss rails is included, along with a tripod, so the chronograph can also stand beside the gun.
Functions for tuning and ballistics
The Pro is aimed at shooters who want more than a velocity figure – for example for long range, field target or PRS.
- Doppler radar, 60–1370 m/s: The radar measures without light sensors and covers everything from air pistols to rifle calibres, where most air gun chronographs stop at lower velocities.
- BC calculation: The chronograph can calculate the ballistic coefficient from your own measurements, giving more accurate ballistic calculations than the manufacturer's catalogue values.
- Atmospheric sensors: Air pressure, humidity and temperature are recorded, so measurements can be viewed in the context of the conditions they were taken in.
- PRS mode: An integrated timer and a spirit level showing the rifle's cant are combined in a mode aimed at timed precision disciplines.
- Bluetooth and voice readout: Via the FX Radar app, measured velocities can be read aloud, so you do not need to take your eye off the riflescope to see the result.
Maintenance and safety
- Charge via USB-C and avoid storing the chronograph fully discharged for long periods.
- Wipe the display and radar front with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents.
- Check that the mount is tight, so the chronograph does not move or get into the line of fire.
