About FX Leopard Standard Bottle PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)
The FX Leopard Standard Bottle is a regulated bullpup PCP air rifle in .177 (4.5 mm) with a 600 mm barrel and an overall length of 805 mm. The Bottle version combines the APB barrel system with a carbon fibre bottle, giving a total air volume of 740 cc at 230 bar. The rifle weighs 4000 g with the aluminium stock, and FX quotes up to 58 J in .177 (4.5 mm).
The Standard Bottle is the Leopard with the most air on board: 740 cc gives many shots between fills, and the 600 mm barrel with Superior Heavy liner makes good use of the air. With a built-in cant in the scope rail and a Picatinny rail under the fore-end, the rifle is made for benchrest and precision shooting at long range, where the weight is an advantage rather than a drawback.
Bullpup with bottle, 54 cc plenum and Quick Tune
Five features that define the Leopard:
- 54 cc plenum in the stock: The power plenum is built into the stock, where it takes up no room in the fore-end, and gives a consistent volume of air per shot.
- Quick Tune and AMP MKII regulator: The energy can quickly be switched between light diabolo pellets and heavy slugs, and the regulator can be adjusted from the outside. Two pressure gauges show system and regulator pressure.
- APB barrel system with STX liner: The air sits in the tube around the barrel, which gives a stiff barrel assembly and a low profile. Inside is FX's interchangeable STX liner.
- Wide rotary magazine: The magazine holds 22 shots in .177 (4.5 mm) and takes projectiles up to 13 mm long, so long slugs can also be used.
- Canted scope rail and adjustable trigger: The scope rail has a built-in cant for long range, and a Picatinny rail under the fore-end takes a bipod. The two-stage trigger is adjustable, and the butt pad can be set.
Maintenance and safety
- Only fill with clean, dry compressed air via the Foster fitting, and do not exceed 230 bar.
- Check the O-rings at the fill port and magazine regularly, and replace them when worn.
- Use Quick Tune and the regulator to match the energy to the ammunition – do not shoot light diabolo pellets on a setting meant for heavy slugs.
- Store the rifle unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase – rules on power and age limits differ across the EU.
