Firestar Compound Bow, Junior

The EK Archery Firestar is a compound bow for young archers and adult beginners who want a proper compound for target shooting in the garden or at the club range. It comes as a complete set with sight, arrow rest, quiver, arm guard and arrows, and measures approx. 781 mm axle to axle.

The Firestar sits one step above the small children's bows: the draw length is approx. 610–660 mm (24–26"), so it suits archers who have outgrown the short junior bows. That makes it an obvious choice for the older junior or the adult who wants to try archery without investing in a fully adjustable competition bow. The cams give approx. 65% let-off, so the force you hold at full draw is markedly lower than the draw weight itself.

What sets the Firestar apart:

• Fixed draw weight: The bow has a fixed draw weight rather than a wide adjustment range. That keeps it simple, with nothing to set up wrongly, and gives the same force from shot to shot.
• Draw length: approx. 610–660 mm. The correct draw length gives the same anchor point from shot to shot, which is what makes arrows group.
• Let-off: Approx. 65%. The lower holding force at full draw gives time to aim calmly and learn a controlled release.
• Compact format: Approx. 781 mm (30.75") axle to axle. Easy to handle and transport without compromising stability.
• Ready to shoot: Arrow rest, brass 1-pin sight, quiver, arm guard and wooden arrows are included.

Maintenance and safety

• Never dry-fire the bow (without an arrow) – it can damage the limbs, cams and string.
• Check the string, cables and arrows before every session, and discard arrows with cracks or loose points.
• Only shoot at a target with a safe backstop, and keep others behind the shooting line.
• The bow is right-handed. Store it dry and at room temperature, and wax the string regularly.
