About EK Archery Buster Junior Compound Bow, Black

The EK Archery Buster is a compact compound bow for juniors, supplied as a complete set so you can go straight from the box to the target. At 635 mm axle to axle, the bow is short and easy to control for smaller archers, and it can be used both at the club range and in the garden against a suitable target boss.

What sets the Buster apart from the most basic children's bows is its adjustment range. Draw weight can be set from 15 to 29 lbs, and draw length can be adjusted from approx. 430 to 660 mm. This means the bow can keep up with the archer for several years: you start low and wind it up as technique and strength develop – instead of buying a new bow every time the child grows. As on other compound bows, the cams reduce the force you have to hold at full draw, which makes it easier to aim calmly.

A junior compound with room to grow

Here is what you get with the Buster set:

  • Adjustable draw weight: 15–29 lbs. A beginner can start at the low end and build strength and technique before the weight is increased – unlike a recurve with a fixed draw weight.
  • Wide draw length range: approx. 430–660 mm (17–26"). The correct draw length gives the same anchor point every time, which is essential for tight arrow groups.
  • Compact format: 635 mm axle to axle and a brace height of approx. 178 mm. A short bow is easy to handle and transport, and a sensible brace height makes the bow more forgiving of small errors in form.
  • Ready to shoot: Arrow rest, brass 1-pin sight, 4-arrow quiver, arm guard, finger rollers on the string and 2 arrows of 660 mm are included.
  • Right-handed: The bow is only available in a right-handed version – it is held in the left hand and drawn with the right.

Maintenance and safety

  • Never dry-fire the bow (without an arrow). The released energy then goes straight into the limbs and cams and can damage the bow.
  • Check the string and cables for frayed strands before every session, and wax the string regularly.
  • Only use arrows long enough for the set draw length, and always shoot at a target with a safe backstop.
  • Children should shoot under adult supervision, and the bow should be stored dry and at room temperature.
