The new Vapyr™ design: 33% thinner, yet highly torsion-resistant

With the Vapyr™ construction, Benchmade has cut away everything unnecessary to create a refined pocket knife:

• Very slim aluminium chassis: The handle is machined from black anodised 6061-T6 aerospace aluminium. This makes the grip very strong and torsion-resistant, even though the handle thickness is reduced by 33% compared with the standard model (only 7.16 mm thick).

• Taiga Green details: The black tactical look is broken by a specially designed Taiga Green backspacer and a matching green thumb stud on the blade, giving the knife a distinctive high-end custom look.

• Light at under 49 g: Even though the handle is now solid metal instead of polymer, the whole knife weighs only 48.76 g. It disappears in your pocket with the discreet deep-carry pocket clip.

CPM-MagnaCut® steel

The blade is the highlight of the Vapyr™ platform. The 82.6 mm drop-point blade is made of CPM-MagnaCut® steel (60-62 HRC):

• High corrosion resistance and toughness: MagnaCut has changed the rules for knife steel by chemically eliminating chromium carbides from the microstructure. The result is a stainless steel with very high rust resistance, high toughness against edge damage and excellent edge retention.

• Hard-wearing Cerakote® coating: The blade is coated with a matt black protective Cerakote® finish that reduces friction when cutting and protects against scratches in the field. The thin blade profile and flat grind geometry make it a very effective slicer for both everyday tasks and professional use.

Upgraded AXIS® Lock – fully Ambidextrous

Benchmade's well-known AXIS® Lock mechanism has been fine-tuned for the Vapyr™ chassis. It gives fast, smooth and very secure one-handed operation. As the lock runs across the frame and the pocket clip is reversible, the knife is fully Ambidextrous and works equally well for right- and left-handed shooters and outdoor users.
