About the kit

The SSG69 upgrade kit is for you if you already own an ASG Steyr SSG 69 P2 and want more out of it. The kit contains the two upgrades we build into our own upgraded SSG 69 rifles: a 465 mm precision barrel and an M150 spring. These are the two parts that give the most performance and accuracy for the money on this platform.

The SSG 69 P2 is a spring-powered bolt action sniper rifle that uses neither gas nor batteries, so performance is the same in summer and winter. The standard barrel and spring are the first limitations most sniper players run into. You can fit the kit yourself, or let our workshop swap barrel and spring and test the rifle. When we fit it, we chronograph the velocity and record m/s and BB weight, so the rifle stays within the site's bolt action limits.

Precision barrel and spring for the SSG 69 P2

  • Precision barrel 6.03 × 465 mm: Replaces the standard barrel. A precision barrel with a tighter tolerance gives the BB a more consistent path out of the barrel and a more stable trajectory than a standard barrel.
  • ASG M150 spring for SSG 69 P2: Replaces the standard spring and gives more performance. The spring is made for the SSG 69 P2, so it fits the rifle's cylinder and spring guide.
  • Made for the same platform: Both parts are from ASG and made for the SSG 69 P2 – the same combination we use in our fully upgraded SSG 69 rifles.
  • Heavier BBs: With the stronger spring, the rifle can lift heavier BBs, which are less sensitive to wind than light BBs. The hop-up is adjusted to the BB weight when fitted.
  • Chronograph measurement when fitted: The actual velocity depends on the rifle and BB weight. If you choose fitting, we measure in m/s with your BB weight, so you know where the rifle sits relative to the site's limits.

Maintenance and safety

  • The barrel swap requires disassembly of the rifle and adjustment of the hop-up. If you haven't done it before, we recommend having it fitted in our workshop
  • A stronger spring puts more load on bolt and piston – keep an eye on wear after a season with many game days
  • Always measure velocity with a chronograph after fitting, and follow the site's limits and minimum engagement distances for bolt action
  • Store the rifle uncocked and without magazine, and keep the barrel clean with a cleaning rod
  • Always wear approved eye protection during play and testing
