About FX Diabolo Pellets, 4.52 mm, 0.54 g, 500 pcs
FX Diabolo pellets in 4.5 mm (.177) are domed diabolo pellets with a 4.52 mm head diameter, supplied in a tin of 500 pcs. The pellets weigh 0.54 g (8.4 grains), the light option in FX's .177 range. They are FX Airguns' own series, produced in the Czech Republic by JSB to FX's specifications and in dies used exclusively for FX. They are designed for precision shooting with PCP and spring-powered air guns in .177.
Pellets are the factor that most often determines how accurately an air gun shoots: even a good barrel will spread shots if weight and head diameter vary from pellet to pellet. By using JSB's production with dedicated dies, FX gets the consistency JSB is known for in a pellet matched to FX barrels. The diabolo shape with a round head and wide skirt stabilises the pellet in flight and seals against the bore.
Features of FX Diabolo pellets
These are the key points:
- Made by JSB for FX: Produced in the Czech Republic in dedicated FX dies – the same production standard as JSB's own precision pellets, but to FX's specifications.
- 4.52 mm head diameter: Slightly over the nominal 4.50 mm, giving a tight fit in many .177 barrels and less air blowing past the pellet.
- Domed head: The most versatile shape for shooting at medium and long range, where wadcutter (flat-head) pellets lose velocity and stability faster.
- Diabolo skirt: The flared tail seals against the rifling and moves the centre of gravity forward, so the pellet flies stably nose-first.
- 500 pcs per tin: Enough for zeroing and a longer period with the same production batch, so you do not have to adjust your sights to a new batch all the time.
Maintenance and safety
- Store the pellets in the closed tin so the skirts are not deformed and the pellets do not oxidise.
- The pellets are lead: wash your hands after handling, and do not eat or smoke while shooting.
- Check that the pellets suit your magazine and barrel, and re-zero the rifle when you change pellet brand or weight.
- Always use a pellet trap the pellets cannot penetrate, and collect lead residue after shooting.
