Leatherman actually started back when Tim Leatherman was on his honeymoon through Europe, and his car broke down. Tim just didn't have the tools to fix it. Today we're glad this happened when he started Leatherman when he returned to the US.

Prof Multitools:
These multitools or knives are legal to carry and use for a recognized purpose. Recognized purposes can be in connection with work, hunting, fishing, outdoor trips, sports or other. If in doubt, you can always contact the Police who can explain whether it is okay.
25 year Leatherman warranty!
At Leatherman, we take extraordinary measures to ensure that the Leatherman product you have purchased will provide you with years of reliable service. If this is not the case and the product is defective, we and Leatherman are always ready to either have it repaired or replace it with a new one within 25 years on all multitools and knives.
The warranty covers:
Manufacturing defect
The original/first owner
Products purchased from an authorized Leatherman dealer. (Handelshuset Aulum is an authorized Leatherman dealer. The list can be seen on their own website)
The warranty does not cover:
Products purchased from unauthorized retailers.
Damage resulting from improper use or careless use
Rust
If the product has been attempted to be modified or repaired
Lack of maintenance – such as lubrication, rust prevention and grinding.
Sheaths, bits and other accessories, in addition to the provisions of the Danish Sales Act.
Logos and other inscriptions
Colored surfaces
Sharpening knife blades
Shipping costs when sending for repair.
Bulk purchases from auctions, leftovers, etc.
Transfer to another party – e.g. products purchased at flea markets, the blue newspaper or similar
