The AGERON T-shirt with the distinctive Build Your Gear print is made from 100% ring-spun cotton, which gives a softer feel and greater strength than ordinary cotton.
The ring-spun cotton process
Ring-spun cotton is made slightly differently. It starts with the same cotton fibres, which are continuously twisted and thinned to create a very fine strand of cotton fibres. Twisting the fibres brings out the short cotton hairs, resulting in a much stronger yarn with a noticeably softer feel. The more the fibres are twisted, the stronger and softer the yarn becomes. The advantages over ordinary cotton are clear: a 200 gsm ordinary cotton T-shirt may be heavier than a 165 gsm ring-spun cotton T-shirt, but the ring-spun one is often more durable and considerably softer.
