About Benchmade 710-25 Seven Ten
The Benchmade 710-25 Seven Ten® is a full-size folding knife for everyday carry (EDC) and outdoor use, based on the original design by knifemakers Bill McHenry and Jason Williams. The original model 710 was the knife that introduced the AXIS® lock system to the market. To mark the series' 25th anniversary, the model has been updated with modern materials, refined internal mechanics and an upgraded blade steel.
Anodised aerospace aluminium handle and FDE details
The knife's outer frame balances strength with a classic, functional look:
-
6061-T6 anodised aluminium: The handle scales are machined from tough 6061-T6 aerospace aluminium with a black anodised finish, giving a stiff frame with high resistance to impact and torsion. The handle is 12.88 mm thick.
-
FDE details and black-oxide hardware: The knife has visual contrasts in the form of Flat Dark Earth (FDE) anodised components (thumb studs and pivot rings), combined with dark, black-oxide screws.
-
Deep Carry clip: The fitted clip allows deep, discreet carry in the pocket or on your kit.
Recurve drop-point blade in Böhler M390 powder steel
The blade profile and steel are chosen for versatile use with an emphasis on long-lasting cutting performance:
-
Böhler M390 powder steel (58–61 HRC): The 101.6 mm blade is made from M390 steel. Thanks to its high chromium and vanadium content, the powder steel has a fine-grained structure with a proven balance of excellent edge retention, wear resistance and high corrosion resistance.
-
Recurve drop-point profile: The blade is 2.9 mm thick with a fine satin finish. The slight recurve (an inward curve in the edge) makes drawing cuts and cutting rope more efficient, while the drop-point profile keeps a stable tip.
Updated AXIS® Lock and fully Ambidextrous
The model uses the latest version of Benchmade's mechanical AXIS® Lock, which locks the blade open via a steel crossbar. The lock system allows smooth, controlled one-handed opening and closing. Because the mechanism is equally accessible from both sides of the handle and the clip can be moved, the knife is fully Ambidextrous and suits both right- and left-handed users.
The knife is made in the USA at Benchmade's own factory in Oregon.
