About UX SPA 60 Air Pistol, Grey
The Umarex UX SPA 60 is a spring-powered break-barrel air pistol in .177 (4.5 mm) calibre for diabolo pellets. You cock it by breaking the hinged barrel, which pushes the spring piston back. A pellet is then loaded directly into the breech and the barrel is closed again. It is a simple, affordable way to get started in air pistol target shooting.
The break-barrel principle is the most common system on spring air pistols, because it combines cocking and loading in one movement and needs no gas or compressed air. The SPA 60 shoots at approx. 100 m/s with an energy below 3.0 J. The pistol is 345 mm long, and the long distance between foresight and rear sight gives a longer sight radius than on compact pistols – which makes small aiming errors easier to see.
UX SPA 60 – key features
- Rifled barrel: The rifling spins the pellet and stabilises its flight, giving better accuracy than a smoothbore barrel.
- Long sight radius: With an overall length of 345 mm, the foresight and rear sight sit far apart, giving a more precise sight picture.
- Double safety: Both a manual safety and a beavertail grip safety must be released before the pistol can fire.
- Colour-coded controls: Safeties and controls are highlighted in colour, so it is clear what is on and off.
- Spring-powered: No cartridges or air bottles – the pistol is ready to use straight away and weighs 721 g.
Maintenance and safety
- Hold the barrel while loading – never let it snap shut on its own, and never pull the trigger with the barrel open.
- Store the pistol uncocked; a spring left cocked for a long time loses power.
- Use clean 4.5 mm diabolo pellets, shoot at a suitable pellet trap and wear shooting glasses.
- Check the air gun regulations in your country before purchase – rules differ across the EU.
