The Reflex Mag Pouch was invented by R-Tactical for the following reason:
The R-Tactical Reflex Mag Pouch was designed to save time during magazine changes under pressure. One frustration that has always been difficult and time-consuming is putting an empty or half-full magazine back into your pouch and drawing a new one. Dump pouches can help, but they do not really solve the problem, and a dump pouch means a slower magazine change. The R-Tac Reflex Mag Pouch is our solution to this problem.

Problem #1
It is hard to put an empty or half-full magazine back into a magazine pouch – which is why many of us use dump pouches. There are many reasons it is difficult: sometimes it is the design of the pouch, sometimes the fabric, sometimes the nylon straps are too tight, and sometimes the magazine already in the pouch gets in the way.
Our solution
Our solution is the reflex pressure mechanism, which pushes the remaining magazine forward and opens a slot for your empty magazine to be inserted (see video).
Problem #2
With current dump pouch designs, swapping magazines takes time (time we do not have). Finding your dump pouch, dropping the empty magazine and reaching for a full magazine takes longer than necessary.
Our solution
Because the Reflex Mag Pouch is built so that empty magazines can easily be inserted behind the full magazine, the operator can draw a fresh magazine from the same pouch in the same movement as stowing the used one. This saves time, because you are not forced to look down for your dump pouch, bring the empty magazine to it and drop it, and then reach for the full magazine in your pouch. With the Reflex Mag Pouch, it all happens in one place.
Problem #3
Current magazine pouch designs make it hard to draw magazines, because the magazines either sit at the same height or there is fabric in the way.
Our solution
Our solution is to shape the pouch so that the front magazine sits higher than the rear magazine. The added height lets the operator find the magazine easily (even when wearing tactical gloves) and grip the ready magazine with the palm and thumb. The pressure mechanism holds the remaining magazine away from the body in a known position, making it easy to find and draw without looking down. This lets the operator keep their eyes on the enemy and the surroundings.
Problem #4
When you draw the first magazine from a double-stack magazine pouch, the other magazine tends to fall out during dynamic movement (running, jumping, crawling, take-downs etc.).
Our solution
The Reflex Pressure Mechanism in the Reflex Mag Pouch holds the second magazine in place during dynamic movement. You can turn the pouch upside down with only one full magazine in it, and the magazine will stay in place (see video).
About the pouches:
Durability is one of our priorities in the production of the Reflex Mag Pouch. We put our pouches through extensive testing to make sure they last.
The pressure mechanism has no moving mechanical parts, so it will not break. It is designed to be so robust that you can stamp on it without affecting the mechanism. You can leave your magazines in the pouch for months and it will still work perfectly (see video). The pouch is made from 1000D Cordura nylon.
