About Hatsan Model 25 SuperCharger QE Air Pistol
The Hatsan Model 25 SuperCharger QE is a spring-powered break-barrel air pistol in 4.5 mm (.177). You cock it by breaking the barrel, load a single diabolo pellet directly into the barrel and close it again – a simple system with no air cylinder, pump or magazine. With a muzzle velocity of up to 215 m/s, it is among the more powerful spring pistols, and the QE version has a fully shrouded barrel with an integrated moderator.
Spring pistols are popular for target shooting because they are always ready and their energy does not depend on fill pressure or temperature. The price of a powerful spring system is usually noticeable recoil and a distinct muzzle report. Those are exactly the two things the SuperCharger QE is built to tame: the XRS system absorbs part of the recoil, and the QuietEnergy barrel reduces the noise, so the pistol is more comfortable to shoot long strings with than a comparable pistol with an open barrel.
Powerful spring pistol with integrated moderator
The technical features that make the difference:
- QuietEnergy moderator: The barrel is fully shrouded with an integrated moderator, which according to Hatsan makes the pistol approx. 50 % quieter. Because the moderator sits inside the shroud, the pistol is only 475 mm long with a 184 mm barrel.
- XRS recoil reduction: A sliding mechanism absorbs part of the recoil during the shot. A spring piston makes the gun move both forwards and backwards, and the less movement there is, the easier it is to hold the same sight picture shot after shot.
- Quattro two-stage trigger: Hatsan's match trigger is adjustable for both travel and pull weight. The clear stop before the shot breaks makes it easier to shoot calmly and consistently than with a single-stage trigger.
- TruGlo fibre optics: A 1.5 mm red front sight and a 0.9 mm green rear sight that is micro-adjustable for elevation and windage. The fibre optics gather light, so the sight points stand out clearly even in dull weather.
- Grooved cylinder for optics: The cylinder has 11 mm grooves, so you can mount a red dot sight or a compact sight designed for spring guns. The pistol weighs approx. 1600 g and therefore sits steadily in the hand.
Maintenance and safety
- Never fire without a pellet in the barrel. Dry-firing puts unnecessary strain on the spring, piston and seals and can shorten their life.
- The pistol has a manual safety, an automatic safety on cocking and an anti-bear-trap safety that stops the barrel from snapping shut while it is open. Even so, keep hold of the barrel while loading.
- Clean the barrel regularly, and wipe the metal parts with a lightly oiled cloth after use.
- Check the age limits and air gun regulations in your country. Wear eye protection, and store the pistol unloaded and out of reach of children.
